BOWLING GREEN -- A Toledo man is in federal custody after an FBI search of his home and business.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents say they executed a search warrant at the Toledo home of Richard A. Schmidt around Noon Friday. Also searched Friday was Schmidt's Bowling Green business, Spindletop Sports Zone.

The warrants were executed on suspicion that Schmidt was trafficking in counterfeit goods or services.

Spindletop Sports Zone is a retailer seller of sports collectibles and memorabilia. Merchandise includes items  for NFL, NCAA, NHL, MLB, and NBA. The store is located inside the Woodland Mall.

According to the FBI, firearms were discovered in Friday's search. Schmidt is under disability to possess a firearm. He was taken into custody by federal agents.

The search warrants were executed by agents from the FBI, Toledo Police, Homeland Security, BG Police, Wood County Sheriff's Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Lucas County Sheriff's Office, Sylvania Township Police, Perrysburg Township Police, and Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
