TOLEDO -- You will soon be paying more for the services provided by the Lucas County dog pound.
The county commissioners unanimously approved a motion Thursday to increase fees.
They include raising the adoption fee from $50 to $100 but will now include a rabies shot which beforehand was extra.
Fees to house dogs picked up by the dog warden are going up from a $1.50 a day to $15 for the first day, $10 for the second day and $8 each day after that.
The increases will raise much needed money for the dog warden's office, about $68,000 a year.
One thing that will not be increases are dog licensing fees. The new fees go into effect January 1,2013.
