NEW CARLISLE, Ohio -- An Ohio soldier killed Monday in Afghanistan will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
The Department of Defense said Army Staff Sgt. Wesley “Wes” Williams a 25-year-old died Monday in Kandahar of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his Army unit with an improvised explosive device.
His wife, Krista Williams, told the Dayton Daily News she was flying this week to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to pick up his body, prior to his burial in the national cemetery.
Wesley “Wes” Williams was a graduate of Tecumseh High School in 2005 in New Carlisle, near Dayton Ohio
Williams was a veteran of two Iraq tours, he was deployed Nov.15 to Afghanistan as a squad leader.
