Thousands of protesters are expected to descend on the Michigan Capitol in downtown Lansing over right-to-work legislation on Tuesday.
Michigan Democrats met with Gov. Rick Snyder yesterday and urged him to veto the bill, which would prohibit requiring non-union employees to financially support unions.
But Gov. Snyder has pledged to sign the bill once it makes it to his desk. The GOP-led state legislature is expected to take final action on the measure as early as today.
According to MLive.com, several streets near the Capitol will be closed indefinitely by the Lansing Police Department, including Capitol Avenue between Ionia and Allegan streets; Michigan Avenue between Washington Square and Capitol Avenue; and Ottawa Street between Capitol Avenue and Walnut Street.
