TIFFIN -- Several people have been displaced after an overnight fire at Willow Creek Apartments in Tiffin.

According to The Advertiser-Tribune, the blaze started in a bedroom and was contained to one apartment, but the rest of the building suffered smoke damage.

Disaster workforce volunteers with the local American Red Cross responded early Monday morning to provide emergency aid to the families affected. One family in the complex needed immediate assistance with food and clothing and was helped on the scene, according to the Hancock County Red Cross.

Red Cross caseworkers will be meeting with the other families in the building to assess their needs, provide assistance as necessary and help them with any recovery planning required.

If you would like to donate to help the families, you can contact the Hancock County Red Cross at (419) 422-9322.
