Finding a good parking space during the holiday shopping rush is always hard to come by. But packing your patience and choosing a spot further away could pay off.
New data compiled by Nationwide Insurance found, 13 percent of auto accidents take place in parking lots, according to its 2012 data claims.
Insurance giant Progressive looked at Black Friday data from 2010 to 2011 and found overall claims doubled and parking lot claims jumped 36 percent, according to MSN Money.
Nationwide and the National Safety Council is urging drivers to be extra cautious, slow down, watch for pedestrians and expect the unexpected.
