Unemployment rates fall in Northwest Ohio

TOLEDO -- Positive news about unemployment in Northwest Ohio. Numbers released today by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services show jobless rates have dipped for most of the counties.

The unemployment rate in Toledo fell from 8.3% in August to 8.2% last month. That's down from 10.1% last year.

Lucas County's rate dropped to 7.5 % last month from 7.6% in August. Last year at this time, the rate was 9.3%.

Wood County saw its rate fall to 6.3% last month from 6.6% in August, and 7.9% a year earlier.

Fulton County's rate is now 6.5% percent down from 6.7% in August and 7.7% in September 2011.

And in Ottawa County the rate dipped to 6.6% from 7.1% in August and 8.1% a year earlier.
