The chicken's out of the coop and planning fowl play during Congressman Bob Latta's  (R-Bowling Green) "Commit to Mitt" bus tour through Northwest Ohio on Monday.

"Latta's Chicken" will egg on Rep. Latta about why he hasn't responded to congressional opponent Angela Zimmann's request for debate. Zimmann says "it's time for Congressman Latta to explain his record in Congress, including his votes against our auto industry, against our jobs, and against our working families," according to her campaign website.

Rep. Latta's chief of staff, Ryan Walker, told The Blade the congressman's schedule was booked when he received the invitation to debate in August. He told the paper that Rep. Latta was "out doing constituent meetings and all our August calendar was filled out probably by the end of June... As a member of Congress, the requests for the Congressman's time are many."

Latta's Chicken will follow Rep. Latta during his campaign stops in Bryan, Wauseon and Toledo.
