TOLEDO -- The Ohio Department of Transportation is considering many options to make more money from the Ohio Turnpike.

ODOT says a nearly $3 million state financed study of the road is in the works.  But until that's complete the department could increase tolls and close maintenance facilities.

ODOT's deputy director did not say how much tolls could increase.  Ohio has some of the lowest toll rates in the region for trucks and passenger vehicles.

Aso part of the possible actions to save money would be closing two of the 8 Turnpike maintenance compounds.
