TOLEDO -- Update: The pit bull is now on a 3-day-hold waiting for an owner to claim her. She was wagging her tail during our visit with her on Tuesday.  http://www.northwestohio.com/news/story.aspx?id=813884

A lost pit bull was spotted wandering outside WNWO Monday afternoon.

According to witnesses the dog had been seen in the area near WNWO, 300 S. Byrne, Friday and had most likely spent several days outdoors.

Several WNWO news staff attempted to call and catch the dog without luck. A final attempt was made by WNWO anchor, Angi Gonzalez. With her chicken dinner in hand and a gentle approach; Gonzalez slowly called out to the skittish pooch and offered her a meal. Afraid at first, the dog inched up slowly, and ate out her palm.

The dog is a medium size, tan and white female pit bull. The lost dog is now in safe hands, however was not wearing an identification collar. If you can identify this dog, contact WNWO at news@wnwo.com.
