TOLEDO -- The Idle Time Alano Club Inc. is asking for donations to fund the repairs needed on the furnace. Idle Time is located at 2044 Genesee Street, in East Toledo.

"We are desperate of some assistance with getting our boiler repaired," said Roy Adams the director of Idle Time.

It will cost $5,000 to repair the boiler.

Adams said, "hopefully we generate enough income to maybe get it replaced so we can get another year out of it."

The boiler, having been in operation for 15 years, now has many problems. The coupler has burned out, and the burners are worn.

"It needs a major overhaul,” Adams added. "The people who come here…they let me know that there is no heat in the building, and I keep asking them to be patient with me."

Idle Time has been a haven for recovering alcoholics for nearly 40 years.

Once the funds are raised, it will take two days to repair. Adams hopes the repairs will be made before winter fully arrives.
