FINDLAY -- Findlay-based Marathon Oil is purchasing one of the largest and most complex refineries from BP.

The company is paying nearly $2 billion for the refinery in Texas City.

The refinery has a troubled history.  In 2005, 15 workers were killed and another 200 injured when an explosion triggered a fire.

BP has been trying to sell the refinery to help cover costs associated with the 2010 Gulf oil spill.

The refinery processes 451,000 barrels of oil a day.
