The smell of gasoline and a dark burn mark overruns the room once used for prayer at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo.
On Thursday morning, mosque leaders revealed the extent of the damage caused by a fire intentionally set late Sunday night. With the suspect caught on surveillance camera, police arrested 52-year-old Randy Linn of Indiana just two days after the incident.
Linn faces numerous charges, including first degree aggravated arson and aggravated burglarly. His motive has not yet been released.
"The building will stand up again and the cleanup will continue until we get the mosque to be active again," spirtual leader Imam Farooq Abo Elzahab told WNWO on Wednesday.
The center suffered major smoke and water damage during the fire. All school supplies were also ruined.
Islamic Center leaders have invited the entire Muslim community to gather for prayer outside the building on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
