MONROE -- Monroe police have arrested and charged a man with sexually assaulting several people including a 7- year -old girl.

34-year-old Shawn Remington is facing multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct which could result in life in prison.

Investigators say they first began investigating Remington on August 2 when they received the initial complaint about the 7-year-old girl.  They say the victim's father is a business associate with the suspect and that Remington sexually abused her for the past two years.

The police department was then contacted by other alleged victims.

Remington worked as a property maintance supervisor and was involved with the Boy Scouts.  But police say none of the victims were associated with the scouts.
