BOWLING GREEN -- A Former Bowling Green State University redshirt football player is suing the university, head football coach Dave Clawson and team trainers because of head injuries he received during practice.

Cody Silk claims his injuries could have been prevented and were not treated properly.

In the lawsuit, Silk says in August 2010 he's suffered short term memory loss and other symptoms after sustaining multiple concussions.  He eventually dropped out of school.

The suit alleges BG violated NCAA concussion and head trauma protocols.

He's seeking $25,000 in damages.

The university is not commenting.
