TOLEDO -- A Toledo official confirmed, on Thursday, that a single shot was fired outside the Toledo Correctional Institution.

An assistant warden said the shot was fired toward a visitor that was leaving the facility around 3 p.m.

No one was injured but a parked car was hit by the bullet.

Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

Troopers do not believe the gunfire came from anywhere on the facility's property.

They're also looking into whether or not the shooting was a random act.
