MAUMEE -- Former Toledoan Jeff Alt stopped by WNWO Today to help raise awareness for Sunshine, a non-profit organization helping people with developmental disabilities in Northwest Ohio.

In 1998, Alt walked over 2,000 miles along the Appalachian Trail and has helped raise over $225,000 for the group.

Gathering inspiration from his brother, Aaron, who is a Sunshine resident, Alt is now celebrating 15 years of walking for Sunshine.

Join Alt on Friday, July 27, at Walt Churchill’s Market located at 3320 Briarfield Blvd, Maumee from 4-6 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to chat with Alt and his black bear Buddy. You can also buy a signed copy of his new book A Walk For Sunshine and register for upcoming walks.

The event is free and open to the public.
