Armed masked man arrested during robbery

Findlay police caught a masked man they say fired several shots while robbing a convenience store on Main Cross Street early Tuesday.

According to the police report, the suspect pointed a gun at the male clerk of Imperial Marathon gas station just after 1 a.m. and demanded cash and cartons of cigarettes. The masked man reportedly fired "numerious round of ammunition" inside the store during the robbery.

The suspect attempted to flee from the business but was apprehended by Findlay officers. The clerk was not injured and the gun was recovered from the suspect.

Police have not released the identity of the robber, but report he is incaracerated at the Hancock County Justice Center for aggravated robbery, a first degree felony. The robbery is still under investigation.
