MONCLOVA TOWNSHIP -- The Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a man on Friday night.

The 2-vehicle accident happened just after 7 p.m. along Eber Road, at Garden Road, near the Ohio Air National Guard 180th Fighter Wing Base.

Authorities say 26-year-old Robert Ulrick was traveling southbound on Eber Road when he tried to pass another vehicle and drove head on into 50-year-old Gregory Brenneman.

Brenneman, a Monclova resident, was freed from his vehicle and taken to Toledo Hospital in stable but serious condition.

Ulrick, a Grand Rapids resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say that Ulrick was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Eber was closed for nearly 2 and a half hours while officials were investigating and cleaning-up the scene.
