BEDFORD TWP., MICH. -- Monroe County sheriff's deputies are investigating a head-on collision that left a Toledo man injured by a driver who had just left the scene of another crash on Wednesday night.

The Monroe Evening News reports the 36-year-old man was driving down Sterns Road around 8:30 p.m. when he was hit by a Temperance woman driving a mini van.

Shortly before the crash, police said the woman drove her vehicle into Flick's Package Liquor in Lambertville, Mich., and then fled the scene.

The man was partially ejected from his car and taken to Toledo Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The woman was not wearing her seatbelt and had to be extricated by fire crews from her van. Her condition is unknown.
