The report suggests MRI scans may be unnecessary after fainting, especially if you have normal behavior.

There are new recommendations that may have you rethinking your next trip to the doctor’s office.

The report by nine physician groups looks at the dangers of unnecessary health screenings and treatment.

The top five tests that are not always necessary:

  1. -A CT scan or MRI scan after fainting
  2. -An annual cardiac stress test
  3. -A chest x-ray before outpatient surgery
  4. -A back scan within the first six weeks of lower back pain
  5. -Repeat colorectal cancer screening

 

Doctors say reducing these tests will help save money in the health care system.
