BOWLING GREEN -- An obituary posted on the website for Dunn Funeral home reveals more about the 2-year-old girl killed in February.

On Wednesday, Bowling Green Police announced that they had ruled the death of Emma Zehnpfennig a homicide.

In a short paragraph written about the toddler's passing, the writer notes that Zehnpfennig is survived by her mother Tabitha and four siblings.

The passage adds that Zehnpfennig's father passed away in 2010, just a few months after her birth.

Officials investigating Emma Zehnpfennig death said she was unresponsive when she arrived at Wood County Hospital on February 22. She had been taken to the hospital by a family friend.

Zehnpfennig was eventually transferred to Saint Vincent's but never regained consciousness.

An autopsy, by the Lucas County Coroner, done this week determined the 2-year-old’s death to be a homicide

Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to contact the BG Police Division at (419) 352-2571 or Wood County CrimeStoppers at (419) 352-0077 or (800) 54-CRIME.
