TOLEDO -- If you didn't top off your gas tank Monday night or Tuesday morning, you are not going to like what you are about to read.

Gas prices have now reached $3.99 a gallon at many stations in Northwest Ohio.

If you have to use higher grade gas in your car, truck or s-u-v you are now paying more than $4 a gallon.

On Monday, the average price for regular gas in Ohio was $3.79 a gallon. Last Monday's average was $3.85.

Ohio drivers were paying about $3.53 this time last year, 26 cents less than the current average.

Nationally gas prices have increased for the 11-th day in a row. AAA says the average is now $3.85.

Signs of an improving U.S. economy has bolstered investor confidence and contributed to a rise in crude oil prices. Higher gasoline prices could crimp the economy by shrinking the amount of money people have to spend.
