COLUMBUS -- Pit bulls are one step closer to be no longer labeled as vicious dogs after a bill that just cleared the Ohio Senate.

State law currently defines vicious dogs as one that has seriously hurt or killed a person, killed another dog or is among those commonly known as pit bulls.

The new bill would remove the pit bull reference from the law and would require evidence to prove a person's pit bull is actually vicious.  It now moves back to the Ohio House which recently passed a different version of the bill.

Ohio is the only state with a breed specific law.

Do you agree or disagree with Ohio's current law that defines pit bulls as vicious?  What do you think of the new bill just passed by the state senate?  Post your comments below.
