FRENCH TWP. -- Fire crews found a 66-year-old man dead after they extinguished a house fire near North Monroe Street early Monday morning.

According to published reports, French Township authorities arrived at the scene at 4 a.m. only to find the home completely engulfed in flames and smoke.

Robert Selvidge's body was discovered trapped inside after firefighters quelled the flames.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The damage was estimated around $150,000.
