SWANTON -- Christmas day turned into a nightmare for one Swanton family.

The Ohio Highway Patrol says a car driven by 62-year-old Edward Kaltenbach, Jr. of Swanton crashed into a tree in their Birdsong Lane subdivision just west of the Fulton-Lucas County line.

Kaltenbach was killed.  His 57-year-old wife Debra is being treated at The University of Toledo Medical Center.

It's not clear what caused the wreck.
