TOLEDO -- Area malls and smaller stores were filled with shoppers on this last Monday before Christmas.  Retail analysts say that so far Americans have spent $52 billion for the holidays.  Katherine Volpi, owner of C' est la vie, a gift shop in Sylvania says she is enjoying a record holiday shopping season.  "Our sales have been phenomenal and while we haven't done the numbers yet I know this is going to be our best season in 17 years," Mrs. Volpi said.

There was a lot of activity at Westfield Franklin Park Mall.  Sisters Kelly and Jennifer Muszynski of Michigan drove to Toledo to complete their Christmas shopping. " It's been really good this year, because last year I didn't do any shopping and today I finished it so I am pretty excited," Ms. Muszynski said.
