TOLEDO -- Toledo police are looking for the man who assaulted two store clerks and robbed one of them.

The armed robbery happened on Saturday, November 12 shortly after 11 p.m.  Police say that a black male about 6 feet  in height  walked into Early Bird Carry-Out, 601 Nebraska Ave., while wearing a hooded sweatshirt, face mask, and gloves.

The armed bandit jumped over the counter and went into a back room, where he ledstore clerk, Wasim Abuhajar, 42, at gunpoint around the counter and forced him to the floor. The gunman also struck Mr. Abuhajar several times with the firearm, police said.

Jumping over the counter again, the gunman tried unsuccessfully to open the register. When he couldn't force it open, he jumped backed over the counter and kicked Mr. Abuhajar in the head, according to a police report.

After a second unsuccessful attempt at opening the register, the gunman took Mr. Abuhajar's wallet, which had personal documents and a $500 money order inside.

Mr. Abuhajar was taken to Toledo Hospital for treatment of minor head wounds.  Anyone with any information should call Crimestopper at 419-255-1111.
