Over 65 people are in the competition to become Toledo's Biggest Loser.
TOLEDO, OHIO --
“Its time to drop and give me 20!” That’s I said to about 70 people who wanted to be a part of Toledo’s Biggest Loser Competition for season 5. Over 100 people filled out the questionnaire on our website, but when it came right down to it, 66 people stepped on the scales at Super Fitness to officially join the competition.
Trainers handed out free t-shirts to all of the competitors and had their “before” pictures taken. But following through will be the toughest step. Toledo’s Biggest Loser Dieticians were also talking to contestants throughout the night, giving them
low calorie diet plans
and strategies for the next few months.
Ron Hemelgarn, owner of Super Fitness said, “This looks like a great group. Kelly’s involvement with this program has been so exciting! I’ll bet they are a bit worried about how hard you will push them!” He continued, “I can’t wait to see them drop those pounds.”
After the weigh-ins, we will bring 25 of these contestants into the studio for a second interview. While they are here, it will almost be like an audition for
NBC’s Biggest Loser
. They will get a chance to meet the judges face to face. Nine people will be chose from that second interview. These nine players will be assigned a personal trainer to coach them through their workouts and a personal dietician to help them plan their meals. They have to earn their spot each month, or they will be knocked out of the competition.
All of the 57 other contestants will be put on the Wild Card Team. And this team will get extra incentives from Toledo’s Biggest Loser, Jerry Schultz and his daughter Heather. Jerry and Heather will lead the Wild Card team with separate workouts and constant emails.
But that’s not all! Someone on the Wild Card Team also has the chance to win $100 each month! Yes, Super Loser is back in the competition and he is charged up! He hasn’t lost any weight since last year and wants to challenge everyone on the Wild Card team to beat his percent of weight loss per month. This does not include extra credit points, just pure weight loss. And the person with the largest percent of weight loss at the end of the competition will get $500! Last year, he gave out almost $1,000!
We will have many more surprises for you each month, so keep an eye on our
