TOLEDO -- For the first time in a couple years, Toledoans will no longer have to remember a new trash day because of a holiday.

Monday is Labor Day, the first holiday since Toledo transferred trash collection to Republic Services.  The company eliminated the much maligned LEAP Forward program.

So instead of leaping forward, your trash day will be pushed back one day with Saturday pick up. So if your pick up day is Monday, it will be Tuesday next week.

Regular collection days resume week of September 12, 2011.

Did you like the LEAP Forward program?  Or do you prefer the new way?  Post your comments below.
