TOLEDO, OH -- Students at Central Catholic High School took some time out of class Wednesday to visit area cemeteries.

This was not a bizarre field trip but a chance for the students to do something to honor the memories of local veterans who have passed on.

The students weeded around gravestones, cleaned them up and placed flags on grave sites so they will look nice for Veterans Day.

"It feels great, like I'm giving back since they have fought for us and protected our country," said Morgan McDougle, Central Catholic High School Senior.

NBC24 met up with the students at Calvary Cemetery. They also visited two others across the city.
