Dozens arrested, two teens saved in Toledo prostitution bust

TOLEDO, OHIO -- Federal and local law enforcement in dozens of cities across the country, including Toledo, have arrested hundreds of adults in the sweeping nationwide prostitution bust.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, in conjunction with the FBI, Toledo Police Department and state law enforcement, conducted Operation Cross Country V, part of a national enforcement action from the Innocence Lost Initiative in the Toledo-area last week.

In the Northwest Ohio sweep, 32 adult prostitues were identified or arrested. The bust also net five johns and six pimps from Toledo-area streets.  Authorities also say two child prostitution victims, ages 14 and 17, were recovered.

Over 80 adults were arrested and cash and weapons seized in busts in the Cleveland-area. 

The Toledo operation was conducted by agents from the TPD, Lima Police, Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, Ohio BC&I, Findlay Police, METRICH Enforcement Unit, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Toledo FBI.
