Detective Keith Dressel was shot and killed in 2007.
TOLEDO -- If you have not had dinner yet, you do not have to cook.
You can grab a meal out and support a good cause.
Police officers and families and friends of officers killed while on the job are meeting at the Hooters on Monroe Street from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday to raise awareness of the sacrifices made by public servants like Detective Keith Dressel.
Their other mission is to raise money for a scholarship in Officer William Miscannon's name; Miscannon was killed on duty in 1970.
"I was only ten when my dad was shot and I don't remember very much about him and earlier today a gentleman came in, he worked with my father and I heard some stories about my dad and I appreciate that the public remembers my dad and all the other officers and Keith Dressel as well," said Diane Miscannon.
The fundraiser offers a $15 buffet with a good portion of the profits going to the scholarship.
