TOLEDO -- Looking for an easy way to participate in Earth Day? Here is your chance; Verizon Wireless is giving you the opportunity to get rid of any old cell phone you may have lying around the house. Regardless of the wireless provider, Verizon is accepting all phones and accessories you may have. You can drop them off at any Verizon Wireless store, or print off a free mailing label on its website.
Recycling your old cell phone is not only beneficial to the Earth, but in Verizon’s case it is beneficial to the community as well. The phones collected by Verizon will go to HopeLine®, the company’s long-running phone recycling and reuse program that supports local domestic violence prevention and awareness organizations. Verizon Wireless will donate a cell phone with prepaid minutes to domestic violence shelters in the Toledo area.
Earth Day is Thursday April 22, and this year marks the 40th anniversary. Play your part in making the earth a cleaner place. Recycle your cell phone this year and make someone’s life a little brighter at the same time.
