DETROIT (AP) -- A 27-year-old Bryan, Ohio man who was arrested after authorities say he walked through a passenger screening checkpoint at Detroit Metropolitan Airport without a boarding pass and refused to obey security officers is facing a new charge.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office filed the charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer on Tuesday.
The charge comes after the man identified in a criminal complaint as Kaylan Policherla appeared briefly in U.S. District Court in Detroit. He is charged there with violating federal security requirements.
A portion of the terminal in Romulus was evacuated Monday.
A hearing on whether he will remain in custody was set for Thursday.
A message seeking comment was left with a federal defender for Policherla.
