TOLEDO -- The Toledo Zoo will offer free admission for all Lucas County residents the weekend of Feb. 13-15 as a thank you for all their support.
This is a three-day weekend for many people and the Zoo hopes that families will see they still have much to offer, even in the colder months.
Visitors can experience Nature’s Neighborhood, the year-round children’s zoo, and see a variety of large and small animals.
The free weekend takes place during Frozentoesen, the Zoo’s celebration of all things winter.
It features ice-carving demonstrations, Cabin Fever Feeding Demonstrations, and special performances and activities.
Frozentoesen is presented by Mercy Children’s Hospital.
The Toledo School for the Arts will also perform Chocolate Soup, an upbeat musical about “tweens” considering changes in the world, including the issues of climate change and the plight of polar bears.
On Saturday, Feb. 13, the Zoo will celebrate Vanimal-tine’s Day as animals receive species-appropriate treat throughout the day.
Visitors will also receive discount coupons for future visits to the Zoo.
A complete schedule of performances and activities can be found at www.toledozoo.org or by calling (419) 385-4040
