TOLEDO -- UPDATED:  Friday, Sept. 24, 2009 1:58 p.m.

Robert Bowers was found at a truck stop in Plymouth, Indiana on Friday.  He was located by a trucker who found him having slurred speech.  

Bowers has been taken to a health care facility and his family is in route.


A missing persons report has been issued for an elderly North Olmsted man.

A statewide alert has been issued for Robert Bowers, 76, who was last seen in Toledo on Thursday, Sept. 24 around 5:45 p.m.

Bowers may be driving a 1997 black Chevrolet Cavalier with the license plate number AM94FF.  He is a white male, 5'9" tall and weighs 190 lbs.  He has gray hair and brown eyes.   He was last seen wearing dark pants and a short-sleeved shirt.

The man suffers from beginning stages of Alzheimers and schizophrenia and is in need of medication.  Bowers has a history of suffering from hallucinations when not taking his medications.  He has visions of people chasing him with guns.

Bowers is not believed to be armed.
