TOLEDO, OHIO -- Arson has been ruled the cause of five fires in a six month span at a Door Street mobile home park.

Most recently, investigators with the Division of State Fire Marshal, Lucas County Sheriff and the Springfield Township Fire Department announced two mobile home fires at Royal Village, 7519 Door St., were intentionally set early Wednesday morning.

During this blaze, one firefighter sustained minor injuries. He was released after receiving minor care.

“Investigators are very concerned about this series of fires and their close proximity to occupied homes,” said Interim State Fire Marshal, Donald Cooper. “We believe someone has information about these fires and we hope they will come forward and help us put an end to these dangerous, criminal acts.”

The Blue Ribbon Arson Committee is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the fires. Anyone with information is asked to call the State Fire Marshal’s Fire & Explosion Investigation Bureau at 1-800-589-2728 or the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office at 419-213-4919.
