TOLEDO -- Fresh off his victories Tuesday night in the Arizona and Michigan primaries Mitt Romney made his first visit to Toledo, less than one week before the March 6 Ohio primary.  Romney appeared at American Posts, a manufacturing company in North Toledo. Romney was joined by his wife Ann.

Romney told the crowd how he and Ann went to the same elementary school together.  "I was in the fourth grade and she was in the second grade and so I did not pay any attention to her, but when she became a sophomore I started to pay attention to her and we have been going steady ever since," Mr. Romney said.   Ann Romney said she had to be convinced to support another presidential run by her husband.  "I asked Mitt if you are able to be the nominee of the party and if you are able to beat Barack Obama, I don't want to go through all this and when you get there not be able to fix it.  I need you to answer me this, can you fix it; and he said he could," Mrs. Romney said.

Mr. Romney told the crowd that Barack Obama was in over his head. "This President has made some promises that he hasn't been able to keep. He told us he would cut the deficit in half, and he's doubled it," Mr. Romney said.

Romney also reiterated key points of his economic plan, namely an across the board 20% tax cut which he said would create jobs at a much faster pace.  Romney assailed the President Obama's economic policies as an abysmal failure.  "Virtually every policy he put in place has made it harder for businesses to grow and hire," Mr. Romney said.

When Romney ran for public office in Massachusets in the 1990's he adopted a pro-choice position in regards to abortion.  In 2005 he switched to a pro-life position and pledged to continue that if he were elected to the Oval Office.  "The key decisions I'll take as President is number one stop funding for Planned Parenthood and appoint justices to the Supreme Court that will follow the Constitution, reversing Roe v. Wade," Mr. Romney said.

After his remarks Mr. Romney mingled with the crowd taking pictures and signing autographs.

Mitt Romney was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 12, 1947. He attended Brigham Young University where he obtained a Bachelor's degree.  He obtained an MBA from Harvard University. He was co-founder of the venture capitalist firm Bain Capital in 1984 and was its CEO from 1991-1992.  He was the CEO of the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics Organizing Committee.  He was the Republican nominee for US Senate in Massachusetts in 1994 but was defeated by Ted Kennedy. In 2002 Romney was elected the 70th Governor of Massachusetts and served from 2003-2007. He and his wife Ann have 5 sons and 15 grandchildren.
