TOLEDO -- A local soldier has been killed in a car accident in Germany.
20-year-old Waite High School graduate Dakota Richey was killed in a single car crash on August 20 while stationed in Germany.
Richey graduated from Waite in 2010 and enlisted in the Army the following year. He had been in Germany for about a month when he died.
Richey played football at Raymer Elementary and wrestled at Waite. He planned on buying a farm when he got out of the military.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. and where family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in North Oregon Cemetery.
