HOLLAND -- On Tuesday Springfield Local Schools received a special Auditor of State Award from Auditor of State Dave Yost. A careful review determined that the district is managing taxpayer dollars responsibly. Ken Musch is president of the Springfield Locals board of education. "The receipt of this award provides another validation to our taxpayers of the quality of the Springfield Local Schools," Mr. Musch said.
Superintendent Kathryn Hott says she is proud of the work that her staff has done in the face of substantial budget cuts over the last several years. "We continue to operate a very tight budget and yet we are doing good things for kids and we received recognition for advanced placement program for the high school," Mrs. Hott said.
Treasurer Ryan Lockwood now finds himself on the radar of state leaders. He has been invited to join the Auditor of State's regional Advisory Board. The invitation was made in a letter from Auditor of State Dave Yost. "I ask that you join this Regional Advisory Board to help me in the implementation of new initiaties, careful review of existing ones, and brainstorming ways to make our common work more productive," Mr. Yost wrote.
