TOLEDO -- A Toledo non-profit child care program founded in 1871 is in need of help.
The Toledo Day Nursery is reaching out to its alumni in hopes of raising some much needed funds. But to also get the word out about the program's history and its benefits.
The program runs three child care locations and serves about 80 children from 6 weeks up to kindergarten.
Leaders say dwindling public funding has left it with a possible $300,000 budget shortfall.
Toledo Day Nursery says a few years ago a janitor accidentally threw away boxes filled with information from old students.
