Woman hit by car in Whirlpool plant parking lot

FINDLAY -- A woman was hospitalized early Monday after being hit by a car in the Whirlpool Corp. plant parking lot.

According to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, 21-year-old Ely Verhoff was driving through the parking lot around 6:18 a.m. when she turned a corner and struck Lucina Meisner, who was walking in the parking lot.

Meisner was transported to an area hospital with injuries, but her condition was not released.

The crash remains under investigation by Hancock County authorities.
