PERRY TWP. -- A 23-year-old woman was found unresponsive in a Perry Township intersection early Sunday--the apparent victim of a hit and run crash.

According to Wood County Sheriff's Office, Bridgette Staley of Bluffton was found near the intersection of Ohio 199 and Pelton Road after dispatchers received a report of an unresponsive person lying in the roadway around 3 a.m.

Staley was taken to Fostoria City Hospital and later airlifted to a Toledo area hospital. Her condition was not released.

The suspect vehicle was later located and the driver identified, but authorities have not released any further information. The incident remains under investigation.
