BEDFORD, MICH. -- Monroe County authorities responded to the scene of a family feud turned attempted murder incident in Bedford Township on Saturday night.

According to the police report, a 68-year-old Temperance man and his 42-year-old stepson were arguing about an alleged domestic violence incident  at a home on the 10,000 block of Lewis Avenue when the stepfather pulled out a handgun. The two men struggled over the gun, discharging it multiple times.

The stepson then gained control of the gun and secured it prior to deputies arriving. There were no injuries.

The stepfather was released pending issuance of an arrest warrant and admitted to a local hospital for an unrelated medical condition, according to the report.
