While it won't have the impact it's having over the central part of the country, an approaching winter storm will still have the ability to make a mess of the morning drive Friday.

Snow will be overspreading the WNWO viewing area overnight from the southwest.  Areas like Van Wert, Lima and Ottawa should see flakes flying by the 1am to 2am timeframe.

That snow will continue to push northeast...reaching Defiance, Findlay and Tiffin by 3am to 4am...and the Toledo Metro by 5am.

The snow could be heavy at times...and by the time the sun comes up, many areas could see as much as 2" to 3" of snow on the ground.

Once the sun is up, temperatures begin to warm aloft...but not so quickly down at ground level.  As that happens, a transition to sleet or freezing rain will happen.  That transition will also move from south to north...into the Findlay area by 7am, and to the Toledo Metro by 9am.

Once that changeover happens, the end of the organized precipitation will be near, and within an hour or two of that transition, it will come to an end.

Some lingering drizzle is possible through the morning, and by lunchtime, most areas will be moving above the freezing mark.  So anything coming into Friday afternoon would be just a few sprinkles of rain.

WNWO will be updating the timing of the storm on-air (at 6pm and 11pm) and online at the links provided below.

Also...WNWO News Today will have updates on the storm and on any school delays or closings starting at 4:26am.
