Toledo's City Council is looking for a new president.

Council adjourned Tuesday night without coming to a majority decision on a replacement for Joe McNamara. During the meeting, he resigned as council president.

After McNamara's formal announcement, the council voted several rounds, with nominations for Councilwoman Paula Hicks-Hudson and Councilmen George Sarantou and Adam Martinez. No candidate won the majority vote.

Without a decision being reached, Councilman Sean Enright will serve as president pro-temp until council meets again in two weeks. Councilwoman Paula Hicks-Hudson will take over as president pro-temp in March.

McNamara says he plans to retain his council seat while he runs for mayor.
