According to the Toledo Blade, a Fostoria man died on Tuesday following a shooting near a boat ramp at Findlay Reservoir No. 2 on Monday night.

An initial statement, on the incident to WNWO, by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office indicated early on that "no foul play was suspected".

On Tuesday, Detective Sgt. Jason Seem explained to The Blade that authorities believed 36-year-old Jason Lebay died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officials went on to tell the paper that a deputy had asked Lebay and his girlfriend for identification after finding them in a parked car at the reservoir.

They say when the deputy walked away the shooting took place.

Lebay's girlfriend was not injured.

Officials told The Blade that Lebay was wanted on drug-related felony warrants in Seneca County.
