HANCOCK COUNTY -- The Hancock County Sheriff's Office is investigating two accidents that took down utility poles on different sides of the county around the same time.

The first accident occurred around 3:24 Sunday morning at the intersection of U.S 224 and Township Road 246. Investigators say 26 year old Tyler Topel of Findlay was driving westbound, lost control and struck a utility pole.

The second accident took place almost 20 minutes later at the intersection of Township Road 97 near County Road 139.

Investigators say in this case, the driver 25 year old Emmanuel Galvan-Flores was drunk when he lost control of his car and struck a utility pole bringing power lines.

He wasn't hurt, but was charged with drinking and driving.
