A group of Toledo educators will undergo active shooter training provided by Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine on Tuesday.

According to the attorney general's office, the course covers the "five phases of the active school shooter" and gives educators an insight into the minds of kilers, as well as advice for what to look for in future active shooters.

"The goal of the workshop is to empower school staff to intervene with students who could pose a danger to schools and promote communication with local law enforcement," the course description reads on DeWine's website. "The primary objective is to help educators and staff understand ways to prevent violence, as well as respond, to save lives."

The sessions are being offered today at Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West on Collingwood Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
